Hello, Great question.
The AR630TSS was not constructed to siphon water.
It is recommended that the unit be provided with water pressure at the inlet.
While the unit will inherently draw negative pressure from the inlet, and eventually will prime, it is not recommended to be used in this manner and will void warranty.
