Often leaking from the bottom is the effect of a leak from a seal or a crack in the motor pump. In northern states this is caused from Pressure washers being left in the garage over the winter. The expansion of the water often dislodges a seal or breaks the pump head.
In most cases the unit will perform as intended but you will periodically hear the motor trying to prime as the water escapes.
