1) Clean the machine female orifice with a wire brush, scrub gently by rotating back and forth.
2) apply petroleum jelly or lubricant on the O-Ring and in the orifice and try again.
** please note, your O-ring may have swollen and may need replacing.
I also noticed from you image that you are using a tool to tighten or loosen your hose. The hose will be under much pressure after use. Turn your machine off, and then press the trigger to release the pressure. Lubricate the threads and you should be able to hand tighten your hose.
