Hello the reason your motor keeps running is because it is trying to prime pressure on the head of the pump.
That means you have a leak somewhere and the motor stays on trying to prime.
*Tighten all your connections, make sure you are not leaking. If it continues, check to see if you are leaking from the unit its self.
This issue is most common when a pressure washer has been left in the elements or in cold storage during "freezing temps" causing the pump head to break a seal or crack all together.
It is recommended that your pressure washer be winterized with "pump saver" or placed in heated area during cold months.
